BCA efficiently handles 21,000 batch jobs daily using BMC Control-M Workload Automation
JAKARTA, Indonesia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2012-- With more than 9 million customers, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is successfully using BMC Software’s (NASDAQ:BMC) solutions to enhance IT capabilities and provide faster and more efficient banking services.
BCA is Indonesia’s largest private bank with almost 7,500 cash and non-cash ATMs and Cash Deposit Machines installed across the archipelago. In today’s competitive financial services industry, customers have high expectations of their banks in terms of speed and reliability. Banks like BCA face the challenge of managing a rapidly growing customer base and are turning to automated IT solutions that enable them to manage complex IT infrastructure and deliver high-quality services to customers.
Workload automation addresses the complexities of the growing business environment and is used by financial organizations to automatically update accounts and generate reports and customer statements. In 1995, BCA started using an automated job scheduler that could handle 100 to 200 batch processes per night. As the bank began to aggressively expand its business, the job scheduler could no longer handle the rapidly growing volume of information. With BMC Control-M Workload Automation Solution, BCA efficiently runs approximately 21,000 jobs every 24 hours and handles 6 million customer interactions daily.
“Our main reason for choosing BMC was its capability in data center process automation that enabled us to integrate the scheduling and management of our batch jobs and report requests, vastly improving our operational efficiency,” said Jip Thomas Sutanto, senior IT manager, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk.
For the past 16 years, BCA has relied on BMC Software to ensure that processing jobs are completed on time. BCA generates and distributes 1,165 daily reports, 50 weekly reports and 260 monthly reports – a workload that can only be handled with automation. BMC Control-M Workload Automation Solution, which integrates and automates business processes from a single point-of-view, helps BCA integrate workflows, thus freeing up more time for the IT team to focus on projects that deliver value to the bank’s customers.
BCA also uses BMC Control-M Output Management to automate all report generation and distribution, as well as process data before it is delivered to customers. This has simplified compliance for BCA by ensuring the timely delivery of reports, ensuring the bank adheres to industry regulations.
